Ministry: Russia’s wheat exports soar to 3.8 mln tns in Jul 1–Wed
MOSCOW, Aug 2 (PRIME) -- Russia’s wheat exports more than doubled on the year to 3.8 million tonnes from July 1 through Wednesday, the Agriculture Ministry said in a statement.
Russia’s total grain exports almost doubled on the year to 4.73 million tonnes in the period.
Exports of barley rose 5% to 641,000 tonnes, but corn exports fell 36% to 257,000 tonnes.
Russia’s grain exports in the previous agricultural year that started on July 1, 2017 and ended on June 30, 2018 amounted to 52.422 million tonnes, including 40.449 million tonnes of wheat. The Agriculture Ministry expects Russia’s grain exports to reach 44–45 million tonnes this agricultural year.
